Home Depot Flooring For Bathroom – We are remodeling our one hundred year old house in Waco, Tx. And our latest project has been a bathroom remodel. My goal was to find a beautiful floor tile that would look like marble but withstand wear (since the house will be a short-term rental). I found this wonderful Carrara 12 in. x 24 in. Found polished porcelain floor and wall tile at HomeDepot and it’s cheap too! In fact, I liked it so much that we even used it in the shower.
The house only had one bathroom when we bought it, and it looked like this. There were holes in the walls and floor and the plumbing leaked everywhere. It was not usable. It was so bad I refused to walk to the bathroom.

We tore out several walls in the house and replaced the windows and built a two-room bathroom. The front room (bottom left) has a vanity and sink, and another vanity area. The rear room (on the right) contains a shower and toilet. Originally, we planned to tile the entire bathroom but we discovered that the wood floors in the front room were in great shape.

I went to our local Home Depot and bought a Carrara 12 in. x 24 in. Polished porcelain floor and wall tiles found. You can see the price listed, which is incredible for a two-foot piece of tile! Porcelain tile is gorgeous and will wear very well in our short-term rental.
Next, I had to decide how to place the tile. I was back in California and my contractor texted me these photos that included a horizontal and vertical layout.
It was very easy to select the tile for the shower because I decided to use the same tile!
I love this horizontal layout in the shower and since the tiles are so large I saved a lot of money on installation.
Durable Flooring Built For Business
Since we don’t have a bathtub in the Waco Fixer Upper house, I designed it as a tub/shower. The walk-in shower has an 8″ high small wall in front. It is easy to step up and provides a shallow tub for bathing a child or pet. The shower has a showerhead and tub spout. I designed this for our home in Ventura, California a few years ago. And we love it. So, I did it again!
Home Depot has an extensive collection of bath towels online and I purchased these plush soft cotton white towels by Home Decorator Collection. They are so soft!
The bathroom remodel turned out better than I expected. We are still waiting for the shower door but the rest is done. I am very pleased and thrilled to be able to partner with Home Depot on this remodeling project.
