Home Depot Laminate Flooring Installation – One of the most common questions I get on Instagram is about our Home Depot wood floors. Where did we get it? How about it? do i like it I tried to answer as many of these questions as possible in the story, but thought it might be helpful to have all the information in one place so anyone can refer to it in the future. So, here’s The Home Depot’s full review of our wood floors!
I knew right away that we wanted to replace the flooring for something more consistent with our style and more durable. I really wanted light oak solid hardwood floors, so I set out on the daunting task of visiting every flooring store within a 45 mile radius. I have many samples but none of them fit my requirements. Then on a whim, I decided to go to Home Depot and have a look at the floors. To my surprise, they were exactly what I was looking for: light oak, solid hardwood, distressed texture and matte finish. It is called Malibu Wide Plank French Oak Point Reyes Solid Hardwood Floor.

After removing the carpet and laminate flooring, we hired a contractor to install wood flooring from The Home Depot. We ordered everything online and it took about 2 weeks to arrive. But since this floor is pre-finished, there is no staining or sanding. So the installation process only took about 3 days in total, and then we were able to move in straight away.

We’ve lived on this floor for six months and I honestly love it. I am very happy with it and very grateful that we decided to install it right away before moving in. This is amazing, it really is my dream floor. So far it has had no scratching issues. No dents. there is nothing. That says a lot since I’m moving furniture around all the time. Plus, we have three kids. But this thing is super durable. It’s painted with a seven-coat ultra-low-gloss polyurethane finish and aluminum oxide, so these floors are built to last.
When we removed the old floor, we had to decide if we wanted to remove the baseboards. This is usually done when new floors are installed, but it would have cost us a lot of extra money and time. So we installed this floor
Baseboards in place. The floor rests against the baseboards, then we use a quarter round to finish it and cover up any gaps. Great tip to save money and time installing new baseboards!

The Best Engineered Wood Flooring Options
I actually saw that review before we bought the floor, but I didn’t feel that way at all. The knots look super real to me and I love how they add dimension to the floor.

I vacuum up dust and debris with a cordless vacuum. Then we clean the floors with Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner and this hardwood floor mop.
