Home Depot Laminate Wood Flooring – One of the most common questions I get on Instagram is about our hardwood floors from Home Depot. Where did we get it? How is it holding up? Do I like it? I tried to answer these questions as often as I can in stories, but I thought it might be useful to put all that information in one place so that anyone can refer to this in the future. So here is a full review of our wood floors from Home Depot!
Immediately I knew we would want to change the floors for something more stylish and more durable. I really wanted a light oak, solid hardwood floor, so I began the painstaking task of visiting every flooring store in a 45 mile radius. I got SO many samples, but nothing suited what I wanted. Then on a whim, I decided to check out the flooring at Home Depot. To my surprise, they had exactly what I wanted: light oak, solid hardwood, distressed texture, with a matte finish. It’s called Malibu Wide Plank French Oak Point Reyes Solid Hardwood Flooring.

After removing the carpet and laminate floors, we hired a contractor to install the wood floors from Home Depot. We ordered it all online and it took about 2 weeks for delivery. But since these floors were pre-finished, there was no staining or sanding. So the installation process only took about 3 days and then we were able to move in straight away.

We have lived with this floor for six months now and I can honestly say that I LOVE it. I’m so happy with it and so thankful we decided to install it straight away, before we ever moved in. It’s been amazing and it’s the ideal floor for me. So far, there have been no problems with scratching. No dents. Nothing. And that’s saying a lot because I move furniture around all the time. We also have three children. But these things are extremely durable. Finished with seven coats of ultra-low gloss urethane finish with aluminum oxide, so these floors are made to LAST.
When we removed the old floors, we had to decide if we wanted to remove the baseboards. Typically, that is what is done when installing a new floor, but that was going to cost us a lot of extra money and time. So we installed this floor
The baseboards in place. The floor went up against the baseboard, then we used a quarter round to finish it off and cover any gaps. Such a great trick to save money and time on installing new baseboards!

I actually saw that review before we bought the floor, but I don’t feel that way at all. I think the ties look really authentic and I love how they add dimension to the floor.
We installed this floor in our power bathroom and it’s doing great so far! NO issues at all.

I use my cordless vacuum for dust and crumbs. Then we clean the floor with Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner and this hardwood floor mop.

Not at all. I have even dropped some very heavy things on the floor and there was no damage. I am honestly amazed at the durability of this floor!
