Home Gardening Gift Ideas – How is your Christmas shopping going? Already done; I find that children are very easy to shop for, but adults are a different matter. I still have a few gifts for adults to get, and I’m looking for some less run-of-the-mill ideas; the kind of gift you can’t find in every store. When I’m looking for this type of gift, I always do Homesense.
I love Homesense. It’s a great one-stop shop for home and garden, with everything from soft furnishings, toiletries, home accessories and furniture to toys and food gifts, all under one roof. Their stock changes regularly, so every time I go into my local store there is always something new to find. I really like the fact that their shows combine many different products under the same theme, so you can easily see what things might look like, or find something unexpected to inspire you. I definitely came away with a stylish purchase, and a great price too.
Home Gardening Gift Ideas
Last week I visited my local branch of Homesense and thought about gardening gifts. If you read my blog regularly it won’t surprise you that gardening runs in my family, and garden related gifts always go down well. I’ve picked up some amazing gift ideas for the green-fingered folks on my Christmas shopping list, and thought I’d share my picks with you.
Last Minute Mother’s Day Gardening Gift Ideas
If you’re looking for the perfect gift for a gardener who loves helping local wildlife, Â this cute bird nest box is perfect. Can be attached to a fence or shed and has an easy access panel on the back for cleaning. You can even help with this wall-mounted bowl, which will double as a bird bath or feeder.
Container plants need to be watered regularly, and this smart little water reservoir takes the hassle out of it for you. I love the intricate design and bright color; I think it would suit someone with a modern garden. It will also be good for houseplants.
Ask any gardener what the dirtiest part of their kit is, and the string will probably be the answer. String is a must have in the garden, but it often gets confused or misplaced. This simple but clever tin keeps things tidy and clutter-free, and the lovely V&A design makes it a joy to look at too.
Garden tools don’t have to look boring, and this flower hand tool is proof that they can be pretty. It’s a perfect bargain too.

A vegetable wash basket is a net or wire container used by outdoor gardeners to remove most of the dirt from the harvested produce before bringing it inside. Laundry baskets are not the strongest containers in this range, but they are very useful for gardeners and will work for less heavy basket fillers.
Add a book or magazine to the back of the basket to create a backdrop. A large book or magazine in the back of the basket will stop all the other files of the basket and keep things from falling behind. Here are some ideas for garden-themed book and magazine raffle prizes.

Unique Gardening Gifts For The Incredible Gardener
Any gardening gift basket needs gardening gloves. Most gardeners I know (who use gloves) like those made of a stretchy fabric coated in a sticky rubber material (latex foam?). Sounds weird…but they work!
I started using a kneeler board while gardening when I was in my 20s. Honestly, these things are good. They also make a great backdrop for the inside of a gift basket. Just plain foam will do…and they come in many colors!
A dignified garden trowel is a classic addition to a garden-themed gift basket. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to get the right metal. Here’s a very well-priced garden trowel that won’t break the bank.
Japanese “Hori-Hori” garden knives are the hottest tools in the garden right now. Many farmers have heard of them, but not everyone has them. This would be a neat inclusion in a gift hamper because it would keep the fillers looking very similar. Whoever made this gift basket must know what farmers want!
Best Christmas Gifts 2022
A good pair of outdoor shears or garden shears will be appreciated by the gardener. There’s always a bag of potting soil to be opened or some other distraction or something – or something that requires a proper cutting tool.
Pruners for the right hands are a good thing to put in a basket with garden themes. No farmer ever has enough of these things, so they won’t have to worry about “already having it”. I think I have five pairs and I’m starting to feel like I have enough! Fiskars makes great pruning shears at a good price (see my Fiskars Pruners
Review for more details).
This is a funny thing. Every gardener who has ever tried to take their phone out into the garden to take a few photos or listen to a podcast has struggled with this. Most clothing pockets are not designed to hold your phone in such a way that you can garden freely without your phone falling all over the place. And most garden tools are too sharp and dangerous to keep in your pocket.
A good gardening tool belt will keep your phone and gardening tools in their proper place while you work. This would be great to include!
Handmade Gardening Gift Ideas For Mother’s Day
A hand tiller is a very useful (and somewhat unusual) tool for gardening. There are loop weeders, crack weeders, fork weeders….so many different types. Find something well-made but small enough to fit in your tool belt (and in your gift basket of course!).
This is a little fun!
