Empire Today Awards Vs. Home Depot Flooring Installation Costs: What Should Customers Choose in 2023? Home Depot and Empire Today are big names in the home improvement industry, but which one is the best place to buy flooring? Let’s take a look at the Empire Today vs. Home Depot to decide.

Home Depot Free Flooring Installation

Installing new floors or replacing old ones is no small decision—flooring can cost thousands of dollars to install, so homeowners want a carpet company, vinyl flooring contractor, or hardwood floor installer who can do a reliable job without breaking the bank. Empire Today and The Home Depot are considered some of the best flooring companies out there, but how do their prices compare? It’s time to evaluate the Empire Today vs. Home Depot and determine which company provides the best value to customers.

1. Home Depot material prices are below the national average, while customers need a home estimate to see Empire Today prices.

Customers can easily view material prices at The Home Depot in-store or online. The material options available in-store may be somewhat limited depending on the customer’s location, but you can view all of the flooring that The Home Depot sells on its website. Material prices at The Home Depot typically fall well below national averages for flooring materials. Home Depot laminate flooring prices were the only category that fell more than the national average laminate flooring price.

So are Empire floors overpriced? One factor that can be frustrating for customers is that Empire Today does not list any of its prices online. If customers are interested in finding out Empire Today laminate flooring prices, they will need to schedule an in-home estimate. It’s also unclear whether the price per square foot includes labor or just the cost of materials, so it can be difficult for customers to determine whether the flooring they’re buying is priced fairly.

Both Empire Today and The Home Depot use subcontractors to complete the work. Subcontracting is often cheaper for companies than maintaining full-time employees because companies are not responsible for certain benefits employees receive. However, the savings that companies experience do not always translate into savings in the customer experience. Paying for subcontracted work from Empire Today, The Home Depot, or other local flooring companies is not necessarily cheaper than paying for work from a company that has employees.

The price of the work will ultimately depend on the type of floor and the size of the area where the floor is installed. Empire Today and The Home Depot can charge labor by the square foot or by the hour. Tile and hardwood floors are the most challenging flooring options and often cost the most to install. Tile installation costs an average of $4 to $30 per square foot, and hardwood installation costs $6 to $12 per square foot. Empire Today and The Home Depot carpet installation costs will be on the lower end of the price spectrum – around $0.50 to $1 per square foot. And if the job is billed by the hour, the customer will pay more for an entire home that takes several days than for one room that is done in less than a day.

Customers who are unable or unwilling to pay a lump sum for floor installation up front may consider financing. They can get a loan or line of credit from their personal banks, or they can turn to a flooring or carpeting company for their own financing.

Home Depot has two financing options available to consumers: a consumer credit card and a project loan. The consumer credit card is very similar to any other store credit card, with added benefits like 6 months of financing on purchases of $299 or more (and up to 24 months of financing during special events). A project loan gives customers 6 months to purchase everything for their project with loans up to $55,000. Monthly payments are fixed and start at $20, and there are no annual fees.

Empire Today has 12-month and 48-month financial plans. The 12-month plan charges no interest if the project balance is paid off within 12 months, while the 48-month plan has an 11.99 percent APR.

Product and labor warranties often only cover defects in materials or errors made during installation. Empire Today offers a relatively limited 1-year warranty compared to The Home Depot’s limited lifetime labor warranty. However, Empire Today also offers a service plan that protects against out-of-warranty or post-warranty damage. These damages include scratches, gouges, deformations, stains and carpeting. Service Plan customers are also eligible for cleaning benefits such as annual supplies of cleaning solution and microfiber mops or $100 for professional carpet cleaning (depending on floor material). There is no service plan pricing information online and customers will have to inquire over the phone or during an in-home estimate.

Customers will want to be aware that labor and materials are not the only costs they may incur when paying for flooring services with Empire Today or The Home Depot. Home Depot doesn’t offer home shopping, which means customers will have to choose a floor covering in-store or order samples. Each sample costs a few dollars (closer to $1 for carpet and laminate; more for more expensive materials like tile). Home Depot also charges $50 for a home floor measurement. However, if the customer chooses to rent from The Home Depot, this cost goes toward the total price of the floor installation. Some Home Depot customers also said they were required to pay for the project in full before installation began.

Empire Today does not advertise any fees on its site; however, many customer reviews report surprising fees. One review of Empire Carpets noted that the customer had to pay an additional $650 to have the floor removed during the carpet replacement. Customers also mentioned $150 to $200 in fees for any service calls to inspect damage that is covered by a warranty or service plan. One of the most common questions I get on Instagram is about our hardwood floors from Home Depot. where did we get it? How does it hold up? I like this? I tried to answer these questions as often as possible in the stories, but I thought it might be useful to put all this information in one place for anyone to refer to in the future. So here is a full review of our hardwood floors from Home Depot!

Why Install Luxury Vinyl Plank In Your Bathroom

I knew right away that we wanted to replace the floor with something more our style and more durable. I really wanted a light oak solid hardwood floor so I began the arduous task of visiting every flooring store within a 45 mile radius. I was given SO many samples but nothing matched what I wanted. Then on a whim I decided to try the floors at Home Depot. Much to my surprise, they had exactly what I wanted: light oak, solid hardwood, distressed texture, with a matte finish. It is called Malibu Wide Plank French Oak Point Reyes Solid Wood Flooring.

After removing the carpet and laminate flooring, we hired a contractor to install wood floors from Home Depot. We ordered everything online and it took about 2 weeks to arrive. But since this floor is already finished, there was no staining or sanding. So the installation process only took about 3 days in total and then we were able to move in immediately.

We have been living with this floor for six months now and I ca
n honestly say that I LOVE it. I am so happy with it and so thankful we decided to install it before we even moved in. It was incredible and it really is my dream floor. So far there have been no problems with it scratching. No dents. Nothing. And that’s saying a lot because I move furniture all the time. In addition, we have three children. But this fabric is super durable. It has been finished with seven coats of an ultra-low gloss aluminum oxide urethane finish, so these floors are made to LAST.

When we removed the old floors, we had to decide if we wanted to remove the baseboards. This is usually done when installing new flooring, but it cost us a lot of extra money and time. So we installed this floor

Motherboards in place. The floor went up to the baseboard, then we finished it with a quarter circle and covered all the gaps. Such a great trick to save money and time when installing new baseboards!

Yes, 1000%. We love them and they are exactly the color and texture I wanted for our home.

I actually saw that review before we bought the floor, but I don’t feel that way at all. In my opinion,
