Walking into this flatiron shop, it felt like I had stumbled upon the best stall on the flea market. Distressed wooden shelves are stacked with an assortment of iridescent plates ($1-$17), mismatched antique china ($5-$23), toilet teapots ($15-$39) and other tacky kitchen utensils. Prices are surprisingly low, so it’s worth battling the often pressing crowd for an assortment of flatware ($1-$6 each) and glassware, including oversized stemless martini glasses ($6), elegant champagne flutes ($8) and Italian-style painted wine glasses ($5). If you’re in need of deep discounts, grab never-used scraps from restaurant and hotel suppliers in the sales area in the back. But there’s also plenty of affordable, fresh-from-the-oven kitchen stuff. Locally-specific buys include plates imprinted with the Brooklyn skyline ($17 to $25) and floor plan dinnerware ($8 for a 5-square-inch “studio” to $33 for a 12-by-16-inch “penthouse”).

The store will open on September 29 at the Greenville Shopping Center on Central Avenue, just north of Ardsley Road.
The 22,000-square-foot space will include furniture, decor, lighting and supplies for various rooms around the house, including kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor spaces and pet supplies.
“With a wide variety of specialty items from around the world, customers can always find something exciting and great value for money in our treasure hunting environment,” said HomeGoods President John Ricciuti in a release. “We’re excited to bring local homewares to Scarsdale.”
Special Grand Opening Hours 8am-8pm. Normal business hours begin Monday, September 30: 9:30am to 9:30pm, Monday through Saturday. Sunday 11am to 8pm

This is the second HomeGoods to open in the Hudson Valley in the past few months. The first, located on Mount Kisco, had its grand opening on July 21.
